The Tucson chapter brings together dads seeking community through the shared experience of raising children with Down syndrome. It offers a place to connect, talk openly, and support one another through the joys and challenges of fatherhood.
How the Chapter Started
Chris Ortiz y Pino first learned about DODs through a podcast featuring Jacob Esser. After connecting with Jacob and later meeting Chris Carney, they began reaching out to other local dads and building a DODs community in Tucson.
Building Local Community
Tucson dads now meet on the first Friday of each month at Culinary Dropout. The chapter is creating a supportive space for dads and families and also works with and receives support from the Southern Arizona Network for Down Syndrome.
